Anatomica dressage saddles: Luxe Line, Sports Line & Comfort Line

By | Tips | No Comments

Each Anatomica dressage saddle is different and can be fully customized to your personal needs and preferences. Anatomica saddles are divided into three ranges: Luxe Line, Sports Line and Comfort Line.  Each range has its own characteristics and is therefore unique. Would you like to know the differences between Luxe , Sports and Comfort line? Continue reading this blog and you’ll find out!

Luxe Line

The Luxe Line includes the following saddles: Cygnus Short Roll, Cygnus Long Roll, Octant and Orion. Luxe Line saddles can be recognized by the yellow button on the front of the saddle. These saddles have a deep and comfortable seat, which makes them very comfortable for the rider and gives a great feeling between horse and rider. All Luxe Line saddles are standardly produced with double flaps, which is less fragile when you daily ride multiple horses. Lastly, Luxe Line saddles are fully made of luxe calf’s leather and you can personally choose the color of stitching used on the saddle.

It is possible to fully customize your Anatomica saddle with a single flap or different kinds of leather, but on a Luxe Line saddle you’re required to pay for your customized options.

Sports Line

The Sports Line includes the Cygnus Short Roll, Cygnus Long Roll and Octant. Sports Line saddles can be recognized by the silver ‘S-line’ logo. Sports Line saddles have a deep and comfortable seat, just like the Luxe Line Saddles. But Sports Line saddles are standardly made with close contact flaps, which means the saddle has just one flap where this flap is not attached to the front panels. Besides that, all S-line saddles have an ‘open-cut’ tree, which makes them very suitable for horses with high withers as well. This construction of the saddle gives a better connection and feel between the rider’s legs and the horse’s flanks, allowing a better connection between horse and rider. The S-Line saddles are standardly delivered with foam padded skirts, which supports your leg even more. Sports Line saddles can be made with Buffalo or Italian Calf’s leather. It’s possible to personally combine different kinds of leather for the seat & cantle, knee roll and skirts. You can also personally choose a color for the welt and stitching of the saddle.

Comfort Line

The Comfort Line includes only the Cygnus Short Roll and Cygnus Long Roll models. Comfort Line saddles are delivered with one of the girth straps through the top of the flap, because the flap is attached lower than with the other saddles. This gives the rider an even more close contact feeling because the saddle is closer to the horse and because you’re sitting more ‘around’ your horse instead of ‘on top’ of your horse. The comfort line saddle is made with a monoflap, in which the flap is attached to the front panels. This combination ensures the ultimate close contact feeling between horse and rider. Just like the S-line saddles, the C-line saddles can be made with Buffalo of Italian Calf’s leather.

Anatomica girths

By | Tips | No Comments

Anatomica also has girths in their assortment, to perfectly align your horse with your saddle. It is important that the girth is comfortable for your horse and that the girth is easy in use.

All Anatomica girths vary in shape and in the effect that the girth has on your horse:

  • Anatomica girth neoprene:

This is a standard straight girth. This girth is ideal for horses that quickly get small scrapes and wounds in the armpits. The material is very soft and easy to wash in a washing machine or by hand. The difference with other neoprene girths is that there is an extra piece of nylon in the girth. This ensures that the girth will not fold as quickly. Does your saddle slide forward quickly, because your horse is built a bit more round? Then this girth is not suitable for you.

  • Anatomica girth model I:

This is an anatomically shaped, symmetrical, leather girth. This model is ideal for horses with a round belly. This girth prevents the saddle form sliding forward onto the neck of the horse. This girth is a bit more narrow in the ends, to prevent the horse from getting wounded behind the front leg. The middle of the girth is wider, in order to achieve a better pressure distribution. The girth has an elastic band on either end, which only stretches when the horse needs it.

  • Anatomica girth model II:

This is an anatomically shaped, symmetrical, leather girth. This model is designed for standard built horses. The middle part is a bit wider for optimal pressure distribution, but the girth is cut back at the armpit to prevent injuries. The girth has a small piece of elastic at the buckles, which stretches slightly when the horse needs it.

  • Anatomica girth model III with elastic on the ends:

This is an anatomically shaped, symmetrical, leather girth. This model is designed for extra stability of the saddle. The anatomically shaped model gives the horse a lot of freedom of movement at the armpits. The material at the armpits is also made to be extra soft, so that the horse does not get injured quickly. The girth is anatomically shaped at the front, that goes slightly forward between the front legs. This allows the side of the girth to remain a bit wider, which gives the extra stability. The girth has elastic at the buckles, which only stretches when the horse needs it.

  • Anatomica girth model III without elastic on the ends:

This is an anatomically shaped, symmetrical, leather girth. This model is designed for extra stability of the saddle. The anatomically shaped model gives the horse a lot of freedom at the armpits. The material at the armpits is also extra soft, so that the horse is not easily injured. The girth is anatomically shaped at the front, that goes slightly forward between the front legs. This allows the side of the girth to remain a bit wider, which gives the extra stability. The girth has no elastic at the buckles.

  • Anatomica girth model IV without elastic:

This is an anatomically shaped, symmetrical, leather girth. This girth gives the same effect as girth model III, but the tip at the front legs is somewhat narrower. This is ideal for horses that are a bit narrower between the front legs, and therefore have less space. The girth has no elastic at the buckles.

Anatomica Basic-Line Cygnus Long Roll

By | Tips | No Comments

The Anatomica philosophy is to gain the perfect connection between the horse and the rider.

This is made possible by the design of this saddle. The Anatomica Basic-Line Cygnus Long Roll is a dressage saddle which gives the rider the maximum leg support. Because of the long knee rolls, this saddle is perfectly made for people with longer legs.

The knee rolls has been attached to the saddle skirt in 90 degree angle. This gives the rider’s leg a better connection with the horse.

These knee rolls give the rider optimal freedom of movement, because only the upper leg and the knee is kept in place. Riders who tend to pull their knees up a bit can profit from this model.

The saddle has a deep and comfortable seat and is used on several professional stables, because it easily fits on different horses.

This saddle can be customised. For example:

  • The saddle skirts can be custom made longer or shorter;
  • This saddle can be custom made to fit your horse perfectly;
  • Available in much different leather types;
  • Available in much different piping colours and stitching colours.

Anatomica stirrup leathers: the stirrup leather you barely feel

By | Tips | No Comments

Anatomica doesn’t only offer saddles, but also accessories for riding. Anatomica aspires to achieve optimal freedom of movement for horse and rider, and a close-contact feeling. The Anatomica stirrup leathers perfectly match this thought.

The Anatomica stirrup leathers are single stirrup leathers. The main reason for this, is that you won’t feel any buckle under your thigh or upper leg.

It is easy to find the right sizes for your Anatomica stirrup leathers. When you get these stirrup leathers in size 65cm, the stirrup leathers will measure 65 cm from the top to the lowest hole. This means that you can always wear the stirrup leathers shorter than 65cm, but never longer.

The way to attatch these stirrup leathers to your saddle, can be quite confusing. For further explanation, take a look at this video:

How do I maintain my Anatomica saddle best?

By | Tips | No Comments

It’s very important to maintain your Anatomica saddle well. Because of that, we recommend to treat your saddle regularly to make sure the leather stays clean and supple. This will also expand the lifespan of your Anatomica saddle!

We recommend to maintain your saddle by following the next step-by-step plan:

Step 1: First clean your Anatomica saddle with saddle soap when it’s dirty. Don’t forget the panels in case your horse has been a little sweaty!
Step 2: Evenly distibrute a thick layer of leather dressing onto your Anatomica saddle. make sure to put product on the saddle up to the point where you see the white liquid stay on the saddle. Don’t be afraid to use a lot of leather dressing, it’s better to put on a really thick layer once every other week, than to put on a little bit every day. Leave the saddle for 10/15 minutes, so the dressing can soak in. Afterwards, rub the saddle with a soft cloth to take away the redundant dressing.
Step 3: Lastly, use a bit of leather grease every day to keep your girth straps supple and prevent them from cracking!

Zadelonderhoud

By | Tips | No Comments

Onderhoudsadvies

1 = Kameronderhoud-zadel
2 = Lepel
3 = Zit
4 = Kussen
5 = Kniewrong
6 = Zweetblad
7 = Stootblad
8 = Stoten
9 = Kuitwrong of knop
